Serge was born and raised on a farm in a small town outside Quebec City , at 18, moved to the US and now owns a construction company. Ahhhh, America the beautiful!!
He has two daughters, is married to Kris, a class 5 kayaker from who he got his white water experience. He loves ice climbing, mountaineering, snowboarding and has been playing hockey since he was potty trained. He is the proud sponsor of a hockey team in which he plays and has the duty of captain, so he hopes to bring the much needed camaraderie and spirit to his team to finish this race.
Home - Lower East Side, New York
Age - 36
Jeremy was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland and lived in London, Paris and China before coming to New York over eight years ago. He works as an attorney at a law firm in New York City and offsets this sendentary lifestyle by getting out of the city and into the woods as often as possible.
Jeremy comes to the team with a fair amount of previous experience in long distance endurance events but nothing as long as Primal Quest including among others the Marathon des Sables (2007) and Ironman (Lake Placid 2005). Having said that he is really an orienteeror first and foremost. In the past he has done a number of Rogaines (long distance orienteering events) and he is hoping that this experience will stand him in good stead for PQ. Not surprisingly therefore he is looking forward to the foot work that Primal Quest involves but isn’t so keen on the paddle section; River Boarding on the other hand should be fun!

Becky was born in Kansas City, but moved to the western US many years ago where she became addicted to the mountains. She enjoys her work and the great opportunities as an engineer, along with the flexibility to play in the beautiful Wasatch mountains. (Thank you, L-3 Communications, for the sponsorship & support!) This is Becky’s first Primal Quest race - a challenge and adventure that she’s looking forward to experiencing. She enjoys ultra running, completing several 50K, 50M, and 100M races, and also really enjoys the multi-sport variety and teamwork aspects of adventure racing.
Home – New York City
Age - 30
James was born in Belfast but spent a lot of his childhood in the Middle East. After living and working in London and Hong Kong, he is now based in New York. James works for an Investment Bank.
James has competed in numerous long distance running events including Trailwalker in Hong Kong and Racing The Planet’s Gobi March.
Ankle injuries permitting, James loves playing real football (soccer).

Becky-
I’ll miss watching the GPS footage with you, but so EXCITED I’ll be tracking YOU and Team Brunton. Think smart, think like a team and I won’t need to tell the computer you’ve missed a turn. I’ll be sending good vibes to you so when you’re tired, Miss Brenda will be helping you along from Utah!! You Rock!!
June 17th, 2008 at 6:17 pm
Brenda, did you graduate from Northeastern in 1984?
June 19th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
I figured I’d start stacking up the encouragement.
Just like all our parents told us: “Get plenty of rest, eat, be nice to people (especially team-mates), have fun and KICK-SOME-BUTT”!
Shooting all of you on the team a little extra energy from Utah!
[yes, Brian-I did graduate from Northeastern in 1984 and I think I know you! skirollfly@comcast.net]

Great pix and videos, Team Brunton!!

Getting OUT of the Mtn Bike clips is important, too. No handstands on the bikes, please!

Hi Becky and the boyzzz,
Have a wonderful time! The race itself is only part of the experience. Be safe, make Becky eat (even though she will say no with a very serious look on her face) and laugh often! We will be watching the race and wishing you the very best!
Take care,
Kym, Caleb and Riley

Becky,
It’s pretty wild knowing what lies ahead for you in the race and knowing that whatever happens, you will claim it as a victory- an incredible learning experience and the fact that you just keep pushing fear aside to live life at its fullest, will make your soul happy. You are a true inspiration to me!

You all are doing awesome. It is about 36 hours into the race and you all are hanging tough!!! I am tired just tracking the team on the Internet! Wow… off to eat a Snickers…

WOW look at the comments! This is great! The IT department finally got it unclogged - hopefully! Keep up the great work! You are dealing with a tough crowd. Team Nike is getting beaten up for stopping for some ice cream on day 1. They are currently doing very well - coincidence? I think not! It was scientifically proven, somewhere, that it is good for the body and soul. It always put a smile on my face! Make sure you pick some up! Keep it up guys, you are doing great! Stay strong and steady!
June 25th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Hope that the weather is not as bad as forecast! We are all wishing you well. Not exactly gentle exercise!
Best wishes and good luck.
