The teams set out from TA 5 with hopes of finishing this leg of the race in a little over 24 hours. Rocky terrain, thick brush, steep hills, snow covered ground and two very cold Montana nights were only some of the obstacles team Brunton had to over come in order to arrive at the relative comfort of TA6 42 hours after leaving TA5. With wet feet sore muscles and barely any food left they rolled in on there bikes with smiles on there face and pleasantries for everyone. When arriving at TA6 they learned thier would be no water section in the entire race and instead they would be back on there bikes for a 70 mile bike ride to Big Timber. since they no longer had any dark zone to worry about they decided a good sleep was the best thing for them and decided to navigate the first long bike ride at night. The team arrived here at TA7 this morning and will be heading out on there bikes which they will drop 30 miles down the road after which they will be trekking threw the Crazy mountain where they wont be seeing support crews for at least 44 hours, wish them the best!

BRUNTON, if it is a clear sky in the Crazy Mountains tonight you guys should be able to see about a 1/3 of the moon. In your minds eye turn the moon so the points of the crescent are upward and that is what alot of us mear mortals are doing…smiling at your success, perserverance, and teamwork.
Keep driving and laughing! Take care Beck!

Support Team, you have the hardest job, being in the right place at the right time with everything the team needs and then having to wait to start all over again.

Hello,
Am very impressed with your progress, stamina, achievement… could go on. Very very sorry not to have been able to be there with you, it all sounds amazing and the sensation when you reach each check point must be beyond imagination.
As someone who has hiked with Jeremy in the past I am relieved to gather that he has not picked up any stray dogs or allowed any chickens to be killed. Yet. Oh, and err, whoever’s driving the RV had better check no-one is sitting on the chocolate either
More seriously, I hope you are finding a few moments to enjoy it (somewhere alongside all that hard work). It’s great fun being able to track your progress and I’m looking forward to seeing photographic evidence of you crossing the finishing line in the not too distant future.

Go team, the end is near and it is time to give it your all. The course is the enemy and beating it is the important thing. Lots of folks have not been able to get this far so you have accomplished a lot.
Can’t wait to see you in person but think it could be a while while you recover from the final kick.
